Thank you to everyone who came to the book signing at Waterstones in Doncaster on Sunday. It was a treat to see so many pupils turn up from the schools I’d visited earlier in the week. Those journeys up and down the A1 were worth it! I hope you all enjoy the Girls FC books.
All set up and ready to go, thanks to the super-efficient staff,
Amy and Joe, at Waterstones, Doncaster. I brought the sweets;
you’ve got to keep your fans’ sugar levels up during a book signing!
Jen O’Neill, editor of She Kicks magazine and website dropped by to say
hello before heading off to commentate on the Women’s FA Cup Final
on Radio 5 Live .
Arsenal Ladies won the cup for a staggering twelfth time, beating Bristol Academy 3-0.
It was pretty one-sides, I’m afraid. The Arsenal score would have
been a lot higher had it not been for the supreme efforts of
Siobhan Chamberlain in the Bristol goal.
Attendance at the Keepmoat was just below 5,000, which was disappointing. I was
expecting more people, especially after the well attended matches during
the Olympics. Mind you, it was a sunny Bank Holiday Sunday – maybe everyone
had gone to the coast instead?
